The second part is the same American product as the stars on Uncle Sam's hat. Its authors obviously seen enough of the "American cake" and other "kings of parties" and was drained from them in the game of sebaceous student humor. Despite the fact that the timer ticks no less ominous than in 2006, Dead Riding today is a game in which a tall man can dress up in a tight pink blouse and stilettos, sit in this form on a pink three-wheel bicycle and rolling aside casino. You must be interested in how things are with everything else are there? Yes, in general, everything is the same.
I, zombies
Previously, the company Blue Castle Games worked on baseball simulators, and it seems that this did not pass for them without a trace. It can be seen that the developers have fantasy, but, unfortunately, it does not go further than the opportunity to seal the moose and terrorize passers -by – in all the rest, the developers made a fairly nonsense tracing paper from the original game. Which, of course, is wrong.
The first part, recall, was a real test: a clumsy protagonist was thrown into a flooded zombie supermarket, allowed to crumble windows, arm themselves with garden scissors and palm trees in pots (it was possible to select and use any suitable object, although not all were useful). At the same time, the players were not allowed to be raised and kept in the hard framework – the game ended exactly after 72 local hours (or 6 ordinary ones). I had to rush around the supermarket, torn between the salvation of the survivors, the battles with the monstrously strong bosses and the implementation of plot orders (which, however, in most cases were reduced to the same rescue missions and bosses). And if, God forbid, we were late for an important task – there was a small apocalypse. There was only one slot for preservation, and if we rewritten it before running for a plot mission, which we eventually did not have time, we had to start all over again.
So. There are now three slots for preservation, the bosses have become simpler, the days are longer, the weapons are larger, and the main character knows how to shoot and run at the same time (which the representatives of the studio talked about last year Captivate). You can also collect your own tools of murder from improvised materials and play together.
Good, bad, dead
The sequel, however, starts promisingly. The sad motorcycle racer Chuck Green grieves on his deceased wife and earns a living by the fact that every evening sits on a motorcycle equipped with chainsaws and at a speed of zombies in the TV show “Horror is a reality”. He needs money not so much for himself as for a daughter infected with a zombie virus, which needs to be injected with the injection of the drug "Zombrex" every 24 hours. And then one day, after a very unsuccessful performance, in the casino city, Fortun City something explodes greatly, the zombies break out of the aviary and, apparently, begin to actively multiply. Chuck with a daughter and a handful of survivors hides in some kind of cap. The military will arrive only in three days. Katie is still ill, and on TV showed a slanderous report in which the culprit of what happened was declared a man similar to Chuck Green. Therefore, the plan of action looms by itself: to look for a medicine, wash a reputation and … kill a zombie.
This is the most important thing. You will have to remember the plot a couple of times a day – at seven in the morning, when it is necessary to inject Katie the vaccine, and a little later, when performing the next mission. The rest of the time, glancing at the watch, walking idly through the supermarkets and casinos, we get through the crowds of sluggish dead, grab it from the floor and immediately launch any trash. Benches, road cones, sledgehammers, diamonds? Everything will fit! There are a lot of weapons, the needs of Fortun City visitors serves a network of various stores: from weapons shops to boutiques and art gallery. Excessive paraphernalia: a battery of slot machines near the walls, jumps on a mechanical bull and a hundred Mexican fast foods. Without canteens, it is still in any way-Chuck's health itself does not restore, so you have to tirelessly drink vodka (effective medicine, but leads to hangover and nausea) and chew hamburgers.
A large horror shop
The main pride of Blue Castle Games is a combo-cards that are issued for any convenient occasion: for passing missions, for growth in levels, for money in stores. This is especially saving in battles with local psychopaths. Additional tasks in Dead Ring 2 are still divided into two types: salvation of survivors and murders of bosses. And if everything is simple with salvation – we find an tormenting playing machine of the clerk or screaming fashion model and take (or take it) to the shelter, then it is much more difficult to deal with the psychos. Although they are not as ferocious as before, but still strong as Soviet power, and fast, like death from an ax. Around them, as in ancient times, you need to run in circles, fire from a shotgun, and in difficult times – reinforced with vodka. In general, closer to the middle of the game, there is a feeling that the developers, if their will, would have copied the first part of the whole, would pack new boxes and try to sell it to us again. But since they would definitely not forgive such frank impudence, I had to get out – to change the heroes of names, draw new textures and add checkpoints. Everything else, it seems, decided to leave it as it is, so the old bones are sticking out every now and then. Situations, scenery, entire scenes are repeated, and what is happening often looks simply ridiculous. For example, they don’t even really explain to us why the military should get to the city for three days, given that the country lives in the conditions of a very real zombie apocalypse and checkpoints should seem to be on every corner. And then reinforcements, it seemed, had to call from the Marshall Islands, and only a few pathetic jeeps led by some shell-shocked uncle Black Sea arrived to save the city.
And so here-everywhere: the plot is a series of meaningless chases for the pompous evil black man (dressed, like a pimp on a dinner dinner) and shootings with half-blue mercenaries in yellow helmets-it is not a god that, but it was necessary to come up with at least some story for covering for covering Another government conspiracy! Bosses, with rare exceptions, are cheaper versions of similar characters from the first part. All this looks so sorry that the developers urgently want to send a pack of plasticine and a set of children's cubes – they say they help to develop creative thinking. And as if this is not enough, so the new elements do not work as it should: to combine the weapon quickly bothers (it breaks about ten times faster than you find the ingredients), commodity-money relations-a real fiction, and the Tropicanza Casino multiplayer inhibits.

But in Dead Ring 2 you can mix cocktails. And not according to recipes, but simply experimenting. Combine orange juice with whiskey? Beer, herring and slightly whipped cream? The effect is unexpected: you can be poisoned and put up the whole floor, or you can learn how to run like a cheetah.
DEAD RISING 2 is interesting only with such nuances: to attach two chainsaws to the oar and arrange a bloody kayaking, sew on a zombie pink elephant, mix the ruff from unexpected components, go through the half-game in the nosato-assembly mask “I am pancreas-black” … from Dead Ringing … 2 can only enjoy if you learn to entertain yourself, not hoping for screenwriters. This is still the best (and, in fact, the only) zombie, a sandwich, in which now, moreover, there are a hundred times more interesting toys. The trouble is that four years ago such a game was already released, and at the same time everything was in order with the plot, humor and characters. Just playing the first Dead Rising today is almost impossible, and the second one is sometimes disgusting.
